BEST PRACTICE: Mark Best's Surf N Turf
Some say, and Mark is one of them, that pairing a good chunk of tender meat with some briny umami in a shell is possibly the best of both worlds. For this version, Mark chose to pair lamb loin with a giant blue yabby indigenous to the South West of Western Australia called marron. Get the full recipe at raremediummag.com

    I remember all the hoo-ha around the backyard shenanigans in Vic park (if my memory serves). Congrats on your success Don. Genuinely inspiring entrepreneur/small business story. The one day a week makes it hard to come for a visit, but one day it'll happen!

    This place is awesome. Their open birthday Saturday is hype - 1500+ folk rocked up. Took us about 6 hours to get served and it was worth every minute. People rock up with chairs, tables, eskies, good humour and patiently wait their turn. Ran out of the burnt ends and sausage rolls.

    with that micro availability its actually a turn off.... im sure the product is top quality stuff, theyre certainly doing well from the business model and all power to them, but the ridiculously small timeframe means i'd go looking for something else thats close enough and actually accessible.

    • @toddm1tchell
      @toddm1tchell 12 дней назад

      I'd personally rather have micro availability but good quality food, than all week availability but par average food. But that's just my opinion. Just need to be prepared to wait until events open up. I might try and get a spot for next week before I fly out of Perth.

      @@damodoesall6240 it really doesn't. they have the biggest bbq set up in WA, possibly the world, and can't keep up. Perth's best bakery (Last Crumb, quite nearby) just closed two days a week as they can no longer keep up with demand while maintaining high quality. They are pushing excellence, and that always takes patience.
